Absorbable adhesion barrier film
Absorbable adhesion barrier film for preventing post-operative adhesions. Betamix Adhesion Barrier Film is indicated for use in patients undergoing abdominal or pelvic laparotomy as an adjunct intended to reduce the incidence, extent and severity of postoperative adhesions between the abdominal wall and the underlying viscera such as omentum, small bowel, bladder, and stomach, and between the uterus and surrounding structures such as tubes and ovaries, large bowel, and bladder.
Betamix Adhesion Barrier Film is designed to reinforce soft tissues to facilitate healing and to prevent adhesions of opposing tissues throughout the body. Betamix Adhesion Barrier Film separates opposing tissues in order to prevent them from adhering to each other in regions immediately adjacent to the film. Betamix Adhesion Barrier Film aids tissue healing by acting as a temporary support mechanism that holds soft tissues in place during the healing process.*
The polymer materials used in Betamix Adhesion Barrier Film have been used in numerous other medical implants and are well recognized as safe and biocompatible.
